Crunchyroll is destroying its subtitles for no good reason
daiz.moe/crunchyroll-...

A ton of research and effort went into this one. This is the article to read to get to the bottom of Crunchyroll's subtitle changes!

Replies here will show up as comments (eventually)
Crunchyroll is destroying its subtitles for no good reason | Daiz.moe
With the Fall 2025 anime season, Crunchyroll demonstrates zero respect for anime as a medium as the presentation quality of its subtitles reach an all-time low.

Day 18 - Jellyfish

A portuguese Man o´War
In my top 10 best creatures of this planet.
(not a real jelly sorry)

Strong words here, but easily worse film than Manaphy and it is shorter by a bit.

Like, what was this about? It was boring as shit and then worse because I feel like barely anyone did anything (except Ash as per usual). They even made Team Rocket feel more useless somehow.
131. Pocket Monsters Best Wishes!: Victini to Shiroki Eiyuu Reshiram (Directed by: Kunihiko Yuyama, 2011)

Something something Pokemon movie yada yada Victini something something about freeing them and plan gone out of control.

Such is the power of a story that I will keep thinking about this even after ending it and reading all the way through.

A wonderful manga about "marriage" as a concept and how it ain't about loving necessarily, but to find people we can feel comfortable with to choose to live with them from now on.
August 6, 2025 at 6:01 PM
There is a guy called Sommelier-kun and a Yuu Kobayashi girl that wants to hold the best of standards that comes often to Sommelier to ask for "manga recs" and gives her the most raunchy ones you can imagine.

She goes and does a speech over "erotic media" and it was inspiring.
129. Denki-Gai no Honya-san (Directed by: Masafumi Satou, 2014)

A simple show (lie) about guys working at a bookstore for anime.
August 6, 2025 at 5:40 PM
That is the best I can come up with to not enter many spoilers but if you have any interest, pls come back to this thread once you've watched it.

For those who have watched and want to read, here we go-
128. Takopii no Genzai (Directed by: Shinya Iino, 2025)

A weird octopus like being arrives from a "happy planet" to Earth and meets a girl. As they see she doesn't smile often, they made their objective to help her smile again no matter what!
August 6, 2025 at 5:35 PM
This was a rewatch

Great show, fun as all hell and got me smiling all the way through.

Nothing more to add, Takamatsu has the touch in comedy 👌
127. Grand Blue (Directed by: Shinji Takamatsu, 2018)

An anime about a guy living his university life alongside his Otaku friend, siscon cousin, super diving fan cousin, some guy that loves getting naked when drunk, a weird girl that uses weird make up sometimes and others.

Oh, and there is diving

Honestly, it was a solid movie.

Perhaps the best one because Team Rocket had something to do and I actually liked the climactic finale.

The collector was just... There, he existed I guess, but could've been worse. I guess that is what made me tolerate his existence.
126. Pocket Monsters: Maboroshi no Pokémon Lugia Bakutan (Directed by: Kunihiko Yuyama, 1999)

Pokemon movie, but a guy who wants to collect stuff wants to collect Lugia and in pursue of that, destabilizes the ecosystem and makes legendaries fight.

Only Ash can do something with some stones.
August 6, 2025 at 5:09 PM
Sasaki to Miyano is extremely cute.

I cannot add anything more than that.

I love the characters, the scene involving the sister and the mom where fantastic, it's super wholesome and a good to my heart.
125. Sasaki to Miyano: Sotsugyou-hen (Directed by: Shinji Ishihira, 2023)

Sequel movie to the show where we cover post confession and the graduation for Sasaki.
August 6, 2025 at 5:04 PM
Has been some weeks since I watched the movie and I'm struggling to remember a lot but it was a existing movie until the final part was particularly stupidly forced as a climax.

Not the worst movie of the Pokemon franchise I've seen. It will come soon in this thread.
124. Pokémon The Movie XY: Ring no Chou Majin Hoopa (Directed by: Kunihiko Yuyama, 2015)

Pokemon but we now are gonna help a poke genie with capability of teleporting anywhere while facing their evil version with legendaries.

Gonna be updating some threads here in a bit but

Please watch Hotel Inhumans

Fantastic show and a personal favourite of mine.
August 3, 2025 at 5:23 PM
That was a well excecuted gut punch.

Good Job Hotel Inhumans

Out of the better movies, I still prefer Darkrai movie, but I can see why this movie is well liked.

For the lore it has, it is pretty well self contained. None of this elements will be used in the show again anyways, so why not at least do it good where we wanna use them?
123. Pokémon Advanced Generation: Mew to Hadou no Yuusha Lucario (Directed by: Kunihiko Yuyama, 2005)

Lucario gets sealed on a staff many years ago and on one fated night as Ash and team celebrate, he gets released and see what has become of the world many years later, where pokeballs are a thing.
July 18, 2025 at 3:48 PM
I was scared for dear life given that this movie is just short behind Manaphy in how long it is but...

It is okay.

Perhaps it helps that, by default, the evil guy here is the best one as he has a plan, acts on it and isn't particularly an idiot (except when typical villain shenanigans happen).
122. Pokémon Diamond & Pearl: Genei no Hasha Zoroark (Directed by: Kunihiko Yuyama, 2010)

Pokemon but le evil bad guy with powers to see the future wants more power and to do that, he requires a worm hole that Celebi calls when they appear.

It's an interesting experience to read this with Sono Bisque Doll airing at this season.

Now, I will not go down and compare the two, because both have very different intentions when it comes to the storytelling of the subject matter, but what I can tell you is that those Hyping this were right.
2.5 Jigen no Ririsa (Written & Illustrated by: Yuu Hashimoto)

An Otaku, exclaiming he has no interest in 3D girls (due to trauma perhaps) suddenly gets visited by a 3D girl with same interest and with the dream of doing a cosrom as her favourite character:

Lilliel.

You think to yourself "well, this cannot possibly continue to go up" and it just does?

That is my experience with 2.5D Seduction.

2.5D Seduction #170
July 17, 2025 at 9:04 PM
Gonna be real

The reason I started reading this manga was because I saw that, in a harem manga, it had le Yuri in there.

Little did I know, not only was it worth it af, it also came with an amazing arc.

This is the manga that doesn't stop giving.

Shoushimin had a lot of stuff going already, even tho some stuff in S1 took a while to click... But S2?

The guy gets cucked by his "girlfriend" in first arc by the fact he gets two timed and he didn't give a single shit about it.

BUT WAIT, that is not all.
121. Shoushimin Series 2nd Season (Directed by: Mamoru Kanbe, 2025)

More very common normal people things where they solve a crime with a pyromaniac and then our main guy gets hit by a car.
July 9, 2025 at 4:25 PM
You are telling me that the guy who hates football soccer doesn't hate soccer but just has a grudge because he cannot play it anymore and decides to beef with the baseball team over Soccer because they don't get it while being accompanied by a guy who is basically a school gangster who hates soccer+
120. Inazuma Eleven: Aratanaru Eiyuutachi no Joshou (Directed by: Shuuhei Yabuta, 2025)

A guy who hates football soccer (trauma) finds a guy who hates soccer (parents forced him to leave) and motivates himself after seeing some guys desecrating football (they were just chillin')
July 9, 2025 at 4:16 PM
It's more Kusuriya, which is great, but with a second half that was super great.

Everything related to the Shi clan, from the kidnapping to the eventual fall is absolutely great. And that is not to put dirt under many other amazing episodes.
119. Kusuriya no Hitorigoto 2nd Season (Directed by: Akinori Fudesaka, 2024)

More Maomao, which means, more conspiracies, mysteries and more surrounding an apothecary that just wants some substances to do experiments with.
July 9, 2025 at 3:56 PM
*heavy sight*... Where do I start?

Oh yeah, you know how this movie, or rather, the whole franchise is about Pokemon? Well, they... Barely use it here.

It gets to the point where in situations where they are actually helpful, they just DON'T USE IT, which leads to a artificial tense scene.
117. Pokémon Advanced Generations: Pokémon Ranger to Umi no Ouji Manaphy (Directed by: Kunihiko Yuyama, 2006)

A Pokemon ranger rescues an egg from a very clearly evil pirate group and then encounters Ash group from this generation and things happen.
