Magic item idea: a bell that when rung, allows the user to cast magic missile resulting in 3 missiles. The verbal component is making a shooting noise, and the somatic is a finger gun in the dominant hand.
The craftsman is German though as a rule and the item is named plainly 'Bell' in german.
