After a great year in 92 as a super rookie, Volk started 93 with a bang against an opponent who I don’t have much knowledge about but surely was skilled and made Volk dig deep.
Very underrated bout and one of RINGS best ones at that point imo.

It's wild how many of these Russian grapplers came in and were great from day 1. Hire elite amateur grapplers, tell them to do the cool shit their coaches hate, and boom, you have pro wrestlers.
This was a great booking decision from maeda imo, he made a star out of Volk earlier by losing to him and took advantage of his shine here to introduce another star to the promotion as this was Kopylov’s Debut match in wrestling! And what a debut it was, can’t get better than this.
