Apropos of nothing, here’s a few indie games that blew me away lately (some may get videos in the near future)
Pretty much why I comment on as many mutual videos I can, even if it’s just ‘great video!’

Seems rote but it does help
PRO TIP

If you have YouTubers you like and follow and watch their videos a lot

leave innane/positive comments on their videos. The algo is all fucked up for YT creators and a lot of videos get sent to the void for whatever reason.

I hate doing it, but I've been trying to do it.

Simogo Legacy Collection launches tomorrow with full Steam Deck compatibility. We couldn’t get a Deck Verified review and we don't know what exactly qualifies to get tested by Valve, but we are guessing more interest might help. Please wishlist if you can/want! store.steampowered.com/app/3817040/...

Great movie

Lumines Arise script more than halfway done

Talks about Daft Punk winning album of the year, the much lesser known sequels to Koyaanisqatsi, some really dumb jokes and references that techno club in Conker's Bad Fur Day

Heady mix

Always love a contrarian take, especially when it comes to storytelling

Haven’t played Dispatch myself yet, can’t confirm if I love or hate it, but I do like people asking questions
Just realized this went up yesterday. It's no secret I don't love Dispatch but what I really think doesn't work is the game's failure at making player choice as well as it's management segments compelling to the narrative.

Dispatch shows how player choice doesn't always work with telling a story
The narrative superhero game Dispatch would tell a stronger story if it didn't let players choose where it goes.

Today I’m thankful that Kojima had an editor tell him, ‘maybe break this half hour long monolog up with a boss fight?’

I kinda hate how so much conversation about specific games is “solving lore” like a puzzle rather than talking about emotions invoked. It’s like giant collective moments of missing the point

I’m glad I got to play Yakuza 1 when it first came out on the PS2

I didn’t *like* it but I get to hoard all that sweet, sweet gamer cred
My problem with Yakuza is that I played 0 first. That was a mistake. The other games aren't bad, it's just like... eating sushi for the first time at some legendary sushi joint in Japan and then only getting Very Good/Great Sushi after that and knowing you'll never have sushi that good again.
man i miss playing yakuza 0. very rare that you know you are playing one of the best games ever while you’re in the middle of it but that was the one.
