This October remember that wearing pink doesn't offer breast exams to at-risk populations, but Planned Parenthood does.

I cannot say enough good things about this book, it is easily my favorite read of the year so far.
I expected it to be depressing, given the current state of things, but it was actually uplifting.
Like the author said: "once we know how the card trick works, we stop falling for it"

This reminds me of what Colbert said in his acceptance speech for his Emmy: sometimes you only truly know how much you love something when you get the sense you might be losing it...my friends, I never loved my country more desperately.

The only reason I never do this is the back is slightly higher, and thus touches my neck and makes me feel like I'm choking. I'm very normal 😆

Most importantly, go experience queer joy. It is because of the people who came before that we are where we are today. It's our job to further define that path for those will walk it after we are gone, and learn the history we make today.

🏳️‍🌈Happy LGBTQIA+ history month!🏳️‍🌈

While we wait to see if our right to marry will be stripped away from us, I hope everyone -especially allies- will learn about our history, and support those of us who are still here however they can.

I can say very little about this book without spoiling the plot, so I'll just say it went PLACES, and I was happily buckled up for the ride the entire time.

It is not my job to "just push them left", it's your job to not vote for candidates who refuse to respect my basic human rights, simply because they're rude to a terrible politician and that amuses you.
thegeekyknot.bsky.social
Or we could support candidates that are already hip to supporting our most vulnerable citizens

All governor Newsom had to do was tweet like Trump and everyone forgot he's more than willing to throw trans people under the bus to attempt to further his political career.

Honestly, a really good article.

It's not just Fox News and MAGA that have made it hell for trans people in recent years.

It's some of the "liberal" news outlets and centrist publications that made this possible too.

A huge shout out to those still masking in public. I see you, i appreciate you 💙
It always makes me smile when someone buys one of these from my little shop.
A starburst shaped sticker with a red outline rests on a brown paper envelope. Sticker has an image of a face mask and reads "Masking Is Punk"

Finlay stresses me out, but it's such a good story, I can't quit reading 🤣

It is a pretty slow roll to begin with. It gets you in a super sad state, then when you're down, it kicks the living daylights out of your emotions.

I just fished the most recent prequel, they are all really good books
thegeekyknot.bsky.social
I never read either prequel before this year, but I eventually got curious with all the chatter.
If you enjoyed the original trilogy, it is worth reading the prequels. Maybe especially now.

Personally, I think good informative books should point to accurate sources for further learning on the subject, but maybe that's just me 😅

I enjoyed it a lot, it felt like it firmly held the pace of the others

Apparently the best time to catch a horror movie in imax is 10AM on a Tuesday. My wife and I were totally alone in the theatre for a screening of The Conjuring Last Rites today.

My big problem with the phrase “granola fascism” is that granola is delicious as hell, granola does not deserve to be catching strays like this. “Raw milk fascism” is more appropriate. Thank you.

I waited months for this one, and it fully lived up to the hype.
