I have a soft spot for Halo 4 because it was the game that got me back into the series and helped me understand what I'd been missing thematically, but it was in an awkward halfway state in terms of gameplay. A bit like Reach in that way, though with a better sandbox.

Oftentimes this is just a vehicle for low stakes jokes, like how Charlotte wears a watch from a brand called Seiso, but for any story set in a contemporary period I do think understanding the surrounding branding is valuable, because it's so prevalent in our real lives.

A lot of these are based on print ads I remember seeing or on the common cliches. For the most part they're worldbuilding topics relevant to the types of stories told in the setting, but the ones I like most are the 'lifestyle ads'

My guiding principle was a mixture of the MGS4 opening TV sequence and the longwinded full page ads I'd see in the 70s, 80s era magazines I'd find lying around my dad's place, with the limitation of forum formatting and the fact I can't draw lol
