Tulip will officially be a year old next week, and while I still call her "Baby," she's no longer anything of the sort! I can't believe how small she used to be... truly a Guinea Pig Glow-Up. ✨

(Also. I can't stress enough that she was NOT stuck in there. She comes and goes freely through those lower openings- I literally watched her do it this morning before I left for work. She could have left the box at any time without chewing her way out.)

I was cleaning up from lunch when I heard the sound of a guinea pig engineer hard at work doing....... something. I'm not totally sure what she was trying to accomplish, but she seemed satisfied with the results.

Not only is Vivi always very well-behaved while having her nails trimmed, she also reminds me when it's time by sticking out her lil toesies for me to see. (Remember to trim your guinea pigs' nails regularly!)

I should probably clarify as a responsible pet owner that I only use the diffuser in my bedroom (NOT where the pigs live) with the door closed... guinea pig noses are too sensitive to be subjected to my smelly nonsense. They must be protected. My alchemical creations must be contained.

I'm journaling my adventures in aromatherapy blending with my diffuser, since I recently discovered how fun it is to make my room smell nice when I'm working or relaxing. It's like alchemy, but with smells. (And, as any good artist would, I must name my creations.)

Gotta love spell check. It can certainly tell me that I'm misspelling technical terms related to my field of research (they're not misspelled, buddy, they're just not in your dictionary), but it's completely silent when I misspell the name of the country whose government I'm asking for money.

A new phrase came to me in a dream when I was napping this afternoon:

"watering the plants at the garden store"

It refers to taking on responsibilities that aren't yours, no one asked you to do, and might cause more harm than good if nobody knows you're doing them until after the fact.

It's been a sweaty summer, so I'm washing the stuffed animals I use for arm and back support while sleeping........ he looks so pathetic. A literal Sopping Wet Creature.
