This is the book I illustrated. Going to spend some time looking for a different platform for it.
Sigh.

I have bought many books from that book store over the years. For a small place, it’s always well stocked. Lovely place.
Thanks - everything about this show was serendipitous, from lighting to pose. I just got lucky, but I’ll take that 😁.
Fascinating city - the legend is that it was founded by Jason, as in “and the Argonauts,” who killed a dragon in the marshes that feed the Ljubljanica River. Known as “The City of Dragons” (and The City of Literature), the city embraces the history and legends on which it is built. #CityOfDragons
Don’t know that I would have considered visiting #Ljubljana #Slovenia if I didn’t live in Vienna. But I loved the place - only a 4 hr drive, the city was lovely. Hit #LjubljanaCastle and got this #photo of #stairs there. #Eastcoastkin #PalacesandGardens #ClassicMono #Photography #Castle #Photosky
Marley was dead, to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that.
I visited the #Cyclades this summer. I like trying to capture #candid shots of people. I was eating at a cafe at the port in Paros when I caught a woman in charge of scooter rentals taking a break from the office.

It was always amazing to me that they didn’t want to show anyone killed, so Joker had just left them with that horrific grin, and that somehow always felt worse to me - more nightmarish.
I remember watching this with my oldest when she was little. She had a similar issue - something really scared her. I had a conversation with her, telling her Batman is the hero and in shoes like this, the hero always wins no matter how scary it might seem.
saw the first issue sell around a million copies. Simon, feeling they weren’t receiving a fair share of the profits from Timely Comics (later Marvel), took Kirby w/ him to Fawcett where they produced Captain Marvel Adventures 1. #comics #comichistory #comiccover #marvel #marvelcomics #comicsky #art
#ComicCoveroftheWeek #CaptainAmerica 1, March 1941, penciled by the legendary Jack Kirby, inked and colored by Joe Simon.
Simon, then 27, teamed w/ Kirby, only 24 at the time, to create the iconic image of Captain America punching out Hitler. Credited as the creators of Captain America, the two 1/2
The Warren mags had amazing covers. And often had some amazing art inside the cover, too.
O’Mealia worked on Detective Comics, and Adventure Comics, and is featured in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.

Action Comics 2, released July 1938.
Cover Art: Leo O’Mealia
The issue following Superman’s debut featured a Superman story, but #coverart by O’Mealia, a writer and artist who was a syndicated cartoonist - author of the strip Wedlock. In addition to his work on Action 1/2
Incidentally, I think they shifted her into being the star of her comic by somewhere around the tenth issue. Maybe earlier. She wasn’t just a host very long.
I love everything about comics - the art, the writers, the history. I just find all of it fascinating. And you’re very welcome.
