Eldest is up late building his first ever PC from parts he's bought himself.

Despite having a dad in the next room that teaches computing & spent years as an Techie, he's not asked for any help at all.

Feeling particularly proud of him but also annoyed because I really would have enjoyed helping.
Super Boss Monster, not Dungeon.

Boardgames are amazing, but my ability to recall their names isn't!
Lots of boardgame fun with a mate last night.

Starting with some Cascadia (which is just delightful!) and then the excellent Super Boss Dungeon.

Aren't boardgames just amazing beautiful things?
Looking back through my photos it seems October is my Kill Team terrain month.

A few years ago it was Octarious, then Into the Dark, Volkus and now Tomb World.

I always spend too long on it.
OK, off to a good start.

Bit of a test piece for now, but happy so far.

I'm determined not to spend the next 3 months on this stuff like I usually do!

Am I the only one that hates bonus tracks being lumped in with the rest of an album on streaming services? A good well-sequenced album has a natural end, and then "hey here's four tracks that weren't good enough, and some rough live stuff to spoil the vibe."
Starting on the new Kill Team Tomb World terrain.

A massive pile of plastic. This is going to take a while!

What do you mean I haven't finished my last two projects?!

No, you shut up!
Always disappointed when England play Wales.

I know Wales are crap & shouldn't be judged to the same standard as larger nations but they talk up a big game, get some Welsh actor to do a emotional poem or something, but as soon as the game starts they're as meek as a bunch of shy-school girls!
First 10 minutes of the first episode is all you need 😂
Episode one of Celebrity Traitors has been won by Charlotte Church's boobs!
They always have a new way of making you a little more depressed every single day! 😢
Oh mate teaching older teenagers is full of those moments, for example, teaching representation of age in the media, my 1st question is always "how do you categorise the different ages? At what age are you old?"

Let's just say as a 30yo teacher they put me in a very different category than I would!
Years ago I was teaching A Level film. My learners were discussing going to see Promethious.

I said "oh cool, the Alien prequel?" They looked at me like I was weird. They never even heard of the film.

After questioning I learnt they only knew of the chest busting scene from the Family Guy spoof!
It's The Matrix week in my class, one big takeaway: only 2 of 18 had seen the film before, but everyone else knew it through memes & vague references to "living in the matrix". Memification of the film's central moments kinda trivialized them, they were watching through the lens of memes.
Anyone got the number for the Royal Mail complaints department?

They keep putting games through my letterbox that I absolutely didn't order!

I'm getting sick off it!
A big, highly enjoyable games night last night.

Starting with the fantastic Flamme Rouge before a truly epic game of Unfathomable.

Nights like this are just good for the soul. Being able to invite 5 good mates around for regular nights like this is truly a blessing!
Enjoyed a friendly game of Kill Team down at club tonight.

A very grindy and tactical game, ending in a victory for the glorious Mechanicum!
Another new Calgar model?!
I seem to have accidentally spent lots of money on a big box of plastic!

I hate it when that happens!!
Yeah, BGA is great. We used it over covid and it was always fun.

Last couple of weeks I've also been playing a bit of turn based Heat on there with randoms. It's good.

Carcassonne is a particularly good implication.
Amazing that it is basically free
35 quid is a great price!

I'm lucky enough to have a good group of players who manage to get in regular games nights, but there are some games, like Memoir and Space Hulk that are often left on the shelf in favour of newer stuff.

I either need to play more of my old games or do a bit of ebaying!
Oh man, that's a great find! It's bloody fantastic game, but also really really tough!

Really difficult to track down nowadays.

Thankfully I've had it in my collection since release, but you have reminded me to play it more!
My rule about never complaining about referees was seriously challenged this morning.

First game is the season and I think I've used up all my willpower already.

The boys deserved better than that this morning.
