My heart sank a little when I found out Valor Mortis was a soulslike. It’s a genre that I like, but one that’s become so oversaturated in recent years. It had the style for sure, but can it really do anything new?

I met @luality.bsky.social at Tennocon and was absolutely obsessed with her Baldur’s Gate 3 stories, so we sat down and had a chat about how she cut off Karlach’s head and played fetch with it.

South of Midnight is a wonderful tribute to the region’s culture, and its score is easily one of the best I’ve heard in a video game. I’m gutted that its gameplay just doesn’t hold up.
