My veteran's day plans
Despite the hundreds of hours into Mass Effect, and even having a Mass Effect tattoo, I just learned today that your companions armor, at least in ME3 as far as I know, have different perks (e.g. +25% weapon damage, +25% power recharge time, etc), they aren't just cosmetic. I have failed Shepard.

I'm just going to assume at this point that the Mass Effect 'Civil War' Krogan image from yesterdays N7 day is just a movie poster or something, Blasto style. Wouldn't put it past Mike Gamble to send us down the wrong path to keep the real story a secret.

Finally got to give the My Time at Evershine alpha a go - aside from slightly odd character models, this bad boy has potential to be great. Definitely like how big the world is, as well as a lot more opportunities to build the community from the ground up, as opposed to just fixing/adding to it

If I have 2 donuts today, I'm just carboloading for the gym tomorrow and I'll be able to lift more is what I tell myself as I sit here in my PJ's enjoying blueberry jelly donut.

My Time at Sandrock has been in my top 5 most played games on Steam for 2022, 2023, and 2024. Getting that itch again to do another playthrough just in time to add it to my top 5 for 2025.

Dearest mother, the battle of Portland rages on, my platoon is dug in between a bistro and an animal shelter. Earlier, an insurgent on a unicycle rode by, and the locals have been trying to feed us something called 'quinoa and kale salad' which I think is poison. Pray for my safe return.

Go camping for a few days to come back to an announced national guard deployment to my home town of Portland. The nasty girls bout to be really bored when they get there and realize there is fuck all going on. Enjoy Voodoo Donuts and the local cuisines that have quinoa for some fucking reason.

Patiently waiting for the Gears of War 2: Reloaded edition that may or may never come. I forgot how much fun GOW1 is, now need to get my older brother out to my house to split screen it like we did almost 20 years ago.

Hooked up my Steam Deck to my livingroom TV with an Anker USB-C hub/dongle + PS5 controller. It's a janky setup, but I'll be damned if it doesn't work great, now I can play some PS2 games via EmulationStation on the big screen, my cheap little NUC couldn't handle them.

Just got back from SE Alaska near Ketchikan, too hot so fishing wasn't great, pulled this silvergray rockfish from about 430 feet, now he's in my freezer.

Started playing Tales of the Shire - pretty good so far. Cute game, but seems to be missing some of the magic of similar games of the genre - no romance, no gift giving, no crafting or resource gathering that isn't directly related to cooking. Still, it's keeping my interest after about 10 hours.
