It's lost some of its magic. There is too much green screen and visual effects, and almost no practical work when it comes to the dinosaurs, and it's glaringly obvious. There's no majesty when we see the dinosaurs now, because they don't look real anymore. You can tell they are all done by VFX artists. In fact a lot of the film, doesn't feel like it was shot on anything but a green screen set.

The Wick-verse expands again with John Wick: Chapter 4 in a story that takes us from New York to Japan to Paris, and Keanu Reeves' Wick is kicking ass all the way. Determined to reach the High Table will require that he return to the fold and be of service. But his target, the Marquis (Bill Skarsgard) isn't going to make it easy for him - like that would stop Jonathan Wick.

Reaper is a different kind of freak-of-the-week episode. Written by Cameron Litvack, it was first broadcast on 23 April, 2002. Tyler Randall (Reynaldo Rosales) is at the local hospital, trying to see his ailing mother's request for euthanasia to be fullfilled. Something he attempts to do himself. When he falls from the sixth floor and dies, that should be it. But there's a meteor rock involved (in the form of a bracelet) and he finds himself brought to life, now with the ability to render to people to dust with a mere touch.

At the height of his James Bond run, Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo teamed up with director John McTiernan to deliver a vastly entertaining remake of the Steve McQueen classic, The Thomas Crown Affair. What the film delivers is a bold, sexy tale. I hadn't watched this one in years, and I forgot how solid, and beautiful this film was. In a story that centers around art, the movie is one itself.

Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie penned Irresponsible, which first aired on 27 April, 2007. It saw the return of Richard Kind's Lucius Lavin. He's causing problems again, but things are going to get really complicated for Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) and the rest with the arrival of Kolya (Robert Davi). Lucius comes to the attention of the Atlantis expedition again when Teyla (Rachel Luttrell) comes home with reports of a powerful hero.

Gold Key Comics released issue 16 of their Star Trek comic for November 1972. Once again, the story was written by Len Wein, and featured art by Alberto Giolitti and cover art by George Wilson. Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Chekov and PR Officer (?) Claire are headed back to the Enterprise via shuttlecraft. And it is with great joy that I tell you that the shuttle looks like a Starfleet shuttle.

Don Adams had a very short summer break between seasons one and two of Get Smart. The first season, with a staggering thirty episodes, came to a close in the first week of May 1966. By 17 September, 1966, Maxwell Smart (Adams) was continuing his spycraft. The first episode of the season, Anatomy of a Lover, was written by Gary Clarke under a pen name, C.F.

With two books, Percival Everett has become one of my favorite authors. I loved his take on Jim from The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn in James. And when I read the blurb on The Trees I knew I had to take a look. I didn't know that I would be blown away by it. Everett delivers a story layered in humor, satire, and horror as he immerses the reader in a mystery set in Money, Mississippi.

I loved Dan Trachtenberg's Prey. It was amazing. It took an IP that continues to endure and intrigue and shake it up in a new way. So when I heard he was cranking out another one, I was ready to see what he did next. Predator: Badlands ends up being a middle-of-the-road entry, one that relies to heavily on visual effects, even as it reminds us that Alien and Predator universe are one and the same.

Carter (Amanda Tapping) finds herself in a parallel universe in The Road Not Taken. Written by Alan McCullough, this episode first debuted on 27 April, 2007. While testing an experimental device based on Merlin's work, Carter's arrival in a different universe allows her the opportunity to help hide the planet from the Ori. In effect she saves the planet again! But this world isn't sympathetic to the idea of helping her find a way back to her own world.

Issue 15 of Gold Keys Comics version of Star Trek was written, like all the previous tales, by Len Wein, with art by Alberto Giolitti and a cover painting by George Wilson. It hit comic spinners for August of 1972. The story is similar to one that would be featured in an episode of Star Trek: The Animated Series that aired in November of 1973, The Time Trap.

Jurassic World: Dominion is the sixth film in the Jurassic franchise, and it seemed very intent on wrapping up lots of plot threads that ran through, or surfaced in the series. I've watched it twice now, and I will say this, enjoyed it much more the second go round. I will also say this. We're six films in here, we've seem some water dinosaurs, and we still haven't seen a pleiosaur which is my fave water dino.

I have served. I will be of service. I love these films so much. Each one has taken what we have learned in the previous film and builds on it. And John Wick (Keanu Reeves) gets pulled back, completely into the underworld of assassination that he left for five years. When the film opens, he is on the run, fleeing The Continental, after having violated it rules, by conducting business on consecrated grounds.

Nicodemus gives us a bit of This Side of Paradise feel... you know the classic Star Trek episode? Written by Micheal Green from a story by Greg Walker, it first aired on 19 March, 2002. We learn that Dr. Hamilton (Steve Norton) has been working for Lex (Micheal Rosenbaum) and doing some experimenting with the kryptonite-infused meteorites. We learn it because one of Luthor's employees has stolen a plant from Hamilton.

That's two for two for the Philippous as far as I'm concerned. I was delightfully impressed with how much I enjoyed Talk to Me. And as soon as I discovered they had another film out there, it shot right to the top of my viewing list. And Bring Her Back, it's an experience. It's unnerving, psychological, gory, creepy, and incredibly well-executed.

Stargate: Atlantis returned from its mid-season break on 13 April, 2007 with the second part of The Return. Written by Martin Gero, the story sees Sheppard (Joe Flanigan), Weir (Torri Higginson), McKay (David Hewlett), Beckett (Paul McGillion), Teyla (Rachel Luttrell) and Ronon (Jason Momoa) leading the charge to rescue O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson), Woolsey (Robert Picardo) and the returned Ancients from the attack of the upgraded Replicators.

Gold Key Comics Star Trek #14 hit spinners in May 1972. It was once again written by Len Wein, with art by Alberto Giolitti and a cover painting by George Wilson. We find Kirk, Spock and a landing party conducting a survey on Beta II . They decide to cover more ground by splitting up. They agree to stay in touch with their communicators, which once again, look like tricorders.

The second part of Ship of Spies first aired on 9 April, 1966. Smart (Don Adams) and 99 (Barbara Feldon) are still in trouble in this story written by Leonard Stern and Buck Henry. They are working on getting the plans of a super secret weapon, but have to resolve last week's cliffhanger first! Something 99 does with a rope gun (which goes sideways just in time for the opening credits)!

I haven't read this book since the mid-80s when my schoolmate and friend, Michael Hay suggested I might like it. I dug into it, and for awhile there, birthdays or Christmases would bring me the latest Tom Clancy hardcover. I've been itching to kind of go back and see I still enjoy the stories, and the character of Jack Ryan. And I have to tell you, I quite enjoyed this one.

The second half of SG-1's final season picked up on 13 April, 2007, almost seven months after the mid-season finale in September of 2006. Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie throw us right back into things as SG-1, alongside Ba'al (Cliff Simon) and Adria (Morena Baccarin) continue their uneasy alliance and their search for the sangraal. Not to mention dealing with an actual dragon.

In February of 1972 the Enterprise continued to boldly go. Dark Traveler was written, once again, by Len Wein, featured art by Alberto Giolitti and another painted cover by George Wilson. The Enterprise is on her way to the Sigma system when they pick up a strange energy burst in a barren system. The burst solidifies itself into a hooded being, sitting in the captain's chair on a very bizarre looking version of the Enterprise bridge.

Five films in you can't expect the series to forge too much new ground. They have a formula that works and people love seeing dinosaurs running amok. This story brings back Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) to bookend the film, and puts Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard - bit of a crush) and Chris Pratt as Chris Pratt as Owen Grady back in the path of the dinosaurs.

I was shocked (and delighted because it meant I could watch them all again) that I hadn't written about John Wick before. I had written up the second film but for some reason hadn't done the other three. So that means I could buckle up and dive into this amazing world where assassins thrive, have a sense of style, embrace retro aesthetics, modern weapons, and can have friendly meetings on safe ground provided by The Continental.

Kinetic was written by Philip Levens and first debuted on 26 February, 2002. Lex (Michael Rosenbaum), Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe (Allison Mack) are at the Luthor Mansion for an interview. But things go badly when a local gang, who have the ability to phase through walls show up to rob the place. And because they are kryptonite-enhanced Clark has problems dealing with them.

I miss Bill Paxton. Sure, I never actually got to meet the man, but I loved his work. And It has been forever since I watched his film Frailty, so why not a revisit? Damn, this one is still a solid film. Mr. Meiks (Matthew McConaughey) comes to see FBI agent Wesley Doyle (Powers Boothe). He says he knows who the God's Hand serial killer is.
