Watching Overlord. Just absolutely disgusting how Antifa are terrorizing these people.

folks can complain about the effectiveness of scheduled orderly mass protest but to think about it another way its the closest thing we have to the opening scene of A Muppet Christmas Carol where all the muppets sing "there goes Mr. Dipshit, there goes Mr. Ass" to Scrooge and it clearly bothered him
This is real life equivalent to "the slasher wins" in a horror movie for me except IRL -

Therapist, 4 minutes of the session left: "I don't generally think of you as a people pleaser. Until our next session, look at setting some boundaries."
I'm seeing a lot of people [with my background and skin tone, specifically] say "we knew the racists were doing racism" about this article - but here's the thing [that folks who don't have my background and skin tone might tell you].

To know about it is one thing.

To see it is another.

You can't logic your way out of being burnt out. Unless you're me. Who should be able to do it and it's a personal failing that I can't
The Leader of Antifa should totally drop a cover of this now that they have his girlfriend.

Noooo! When you say "Atom" and "Monarch" in the same sentence, suddenly editorial panics and we have to pretend to care about Hank Hall again!
Houser on Laura and Rucka on Batwoman? I may just wind up reading super hero books again.

I also have a whole ass Gail Simone X-Men run I missed to catch up on!

[It wasn't on principle or anything, I read the last Black Hammer trade and needed a minute.]

I have more story coming out this year: "Phantom View" drops in two weeks! It's a creepy novelette about the accessibility needs of caretakers and ghosts alike. I can't wait for people to read this baby.

There's a sneak preview up at my Patreon! www.patreon.com/posts/sneak-...

I must be getting old, because I am so tired of the "everything is in beta" thing.

I just want something that works when I get it. To work well, consistently, and have known fixes when it doesn't. And if you're like "we want to add features!!" fine! But can't the thing just work to begin with?

it's that time of year, it's time to get your flu and covid booster shot unless you're from massachusetts then it's time for your flu and covid borcester shot
Watches a bit too much like a Spooky Yulelog for my taste - something to have on in the background while you do other things or have someone over.
You mean "non-rich people who have made countless catastrophic financial decisions and learned nothing from any of them" - they like the other one coming from the gilded dick crowd. [Can we call it crowd? Aren't there like only 11 of them now?]
Oops, deleted the post that sent me off on that tangent.

Basically, I said V/H/S Halloween has some fun stuff in it. Leans too hard on "part of the found footage movie where everything goes violent and screaming" which was disappointing.

Variety is the spice of life, yo. Mix it up.
Seriously, "God of Death" is almost perfect found footage horror.

I sometimes find myself wanting to recommend it to people, and only then remembering "oh, wait, it isn't its own movie."
V/H/S/85 is so weird - the framing narrative about the shapeshifter Rory is way more compelling than *almost* all the others.

"God of Death" thought is an awesome piece of horror by Gigi Saul Guerrero though. I recommend going out of your way to see it, even if this series is not your taste.
V/H/S/99 is as close as the series gets back to the magic of the first two anthologies.

None of them miss, but "Shredding" is a legit joy to watch, while "Ozzy's Dungeon" and "To Hell and Back" are so unsettling/upsetting and fun. The former hits that "Adult Swim Horror" style but turns it to 11.
V/H/S/94 is a personal favorite, but again, the framing story is a let down.

"Storm Drain" and "Terror" are must sees, particularly the latter, though the concept carries it. "Terror" is one of those shorts I wanted to see a full film of so bad, because "Bubbas w/Vampires" is an amazing idea.
I haven't seen V/H/S Beyond yet, I may have to dig it up.

I generally like this series, though after the first and 2, they all come with caveats.

Framing device in 3 or "Viral" is super weak, as is the Dante the Great opener. But "Parallel Monsters" is so good it drags the rest up
