Back to our regular schedule, here's a @geograph-gbi.bsky.social calendar image for the start of September: Frankton junction, Llangollen Canal.

A view on a golden Autumn evening towards a red-brick humped canal bridge. The towpath runs along the left of the canal and before the bridge is a fingerpost by the towpath, with one finger pointing right: a widening in the canal shows that another canal leaves the photo on the right of the frame. The hedge along the towpath is bushy, with some bushes reddened by hawthorn berries; the various trees dotted around the picture, mostly beyond the bridge but one drooping in from top right near the camera, are in full leaf; the leaves are mostly green but a few are turning yellow.

It should be much drier today if you fancy a trip to the wharf this afternoon.

Our visitor centre is open on the remaining three weekends of the month. You may know our boat trips have been suspended due to low water. BUT volunteers are already planning winter maintenance on the boat. If you could help support them, please visit - pay.sumup.com/b2c/Q5XXJNSS. Thanks in advance.

We can't guarantee bright blue skies this afternoon but we can offer a warm welcome and a place to chat about #UKCanals over a cuppa.

We are almost in our last month of opening Llanymynech Canal Wharf to the public on weekends.

Our volunteers would still love to welcome you on Saturdays and Sundays 1.30 - 4pm until the 28th September for light refreshments or to talk about the Montgomery canal and local area. #UKCanals
