I use Arches Hot Pressed watercolor paper at 300gsm - peeling never goes badly with it (maybe if the glue is too strong it might peel a tiny bit of the paper surface's "cotton"-like texture though, but still). My tape is this one by Anker. Very affordable and works well for me.
