I know I already said that but I find absolutely incredible the extent to which Harry doesn't think about house elves

What strikes me in Harry Potter is how often Harry doesn't think about what happens
In the first book, when Hermione runs crying he notices Ron is embarassed, he doesn't feel anything
When meeting Winky he doesn't think about house elves, just asks questions and forgets about it when he turns around
