I do get that when it's your favorite character in comics and they get to be in a film or series you'd like them to look like in the comics, but I'm a comics fan 1st so for me that version in the TV/movie isn't my favorite character...
And it's always about a person of color they hate....

Deeply uncool?
The man whose nickname is The Man In Black?
Whose first live album was recorded in a prison!
That man..?!
They must have been talking about someone else surely...

Just reading this, I think since he's a FF villain you could start with the Byrne run, the Waid/Wieringo run, the Dan Slott run (the issue where Johnny ruins Dooms wedding is hilarious!)
and also the current Ryan North run, not a lot of Doom but most issues are one issue stories so good present

I just read this, somehow totally missed it when it came out, which is weird because I'm interested in anything Batman, but it was a really great comic, both mr Rucka and Mr Lark will be at the Dutch Comic Con and so will I 😊😊😊

But you would have had second thoughts if they'd say "we'll bring him into the Marvel Universe and he's gonna be the next Iron Man....😂

I think for a lot of artists and fans it's one their favorites

I know it only as the movie with Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason and yes it totally passes as a Noir.
Not so much for it's follow up The Color Of Money, which is more of a drama, but still very good!

I recently saw a documentary about Crumb from the 90s, he came across as a weird and not very likeable person, but then you meet his two brothers and talk about growing up and you realise he was one of the more normal ones....

Well humans can be pretty great so I can believe they can come up with great lyrics....
But as a Sam Brown fan I always liked the lyric from Fear Of Life
"I know it can be hard to always speak the truth
More to myself than to you
And so I try to find the easy road
But it only goes to nowhere"

I sold all my 45s had about 500 of them all from the 80s, but I did it just before the big vinyl boom....🙃😬
Luckily I still saved all the albums...
