Quick piece from today, needed artwork for a BBEG NPC. It was a little odd because there was a mini for this fella released by WizKids, but no official artwork that I could find out there.

Shosenbe from Usaro.

Think I have determined a pet peeve; people not paying attention at a ttrpg table, and/or not listening to what is being said so information had to be repeated.

Have ran into this in 3 separate games with 3 separate players. If you aren't there to participate/listen, why are you playing???

Think my biggest take-aways from this and learning from a stream I've been hanging out on is that i should really try out larger canvas sizes. Probably gonna start poking around with 10k by 10k, 300 dpi and see how that goes for me.

Had been working on a piece for fun, using a pose TrueRef was running for a contest, but idk. Something ain't clicking and I'm losing steam on the design for this. It's inspiring maybe something else for Leon, but we'll see.

This is a WIP for Leon Murray, PF2e Cloistered Cleric of Sarenrae.
A human sits on a stone fence near the bottom of a rocky mountain, with a winding path near him. He holds his staff and very half-heartedly points in a direction, almost encouraging loosely that whoever was approaching might want to turn around. A very grand detail of the Holy Symbol of Sarenrae adorns his staff, with transparent wings. that cover half of his face.

Have you ever been trying to draw a piece for a ttrpg character and have the sinking feeling that you want to entirely redesign the character's build because you're struggling to make the character look even remotely close to what you had envisioned?

😭

Originally was gonna do the coloring, but then found myself enjoying the hatching for shading more after the first one on these subjects. I don't know anything about the characters, but it was fun checking these out for random subjects!

WIP I was working on yesterday a bit.

Been struggling with how to approach a character's design that I have in my head, figured I'd give it a shot since I'm in an art mood this week.

Honestly I'm mostly sharing so I can go back and be proud I drew something every day this week, finished or not.

Ah, forgot to mention! This is but one of my many Pathfinder Society characters. He sees occasional play.
He's currently level 5.

I dunno where all this art motivation is coming from this week, but we'll ride that wave for as long as we can if it means I can get some ideas out onto the canvas.

This is Sir Erik P Rumblerocks, a Justice Champion of Iomedae. He wields his dogslicer proudly, thinking it's actually a longsword, and screams "JUSTICE" when hitting his enemies. He doesn't know what the word actually means.
A goblin stands with a crude, damaged looking sword in right hand, and a hide shield in his left hand. His posture is particularly good, as he dons splint mail armor adorned with Iomedae's logo.

Sephiroth Study, done 4/5/09. Graphite pencil, faces was never my forte. But really happy how everything else turned out! Think this was a reference from a wall scroll I had.

Looks like that's the last of it all that I wanted to share and at least get off of Facebook. Hope it was fun to look at!

Taking it reaaaaaal far back with one from 10/14/09. Was actually in art classes and did 99% traditional back then. Did this one for my fraternity, probably would have been better digital but wasn't well-versed in that medium yet, and didn't have a tablet back then.

Now, let's post some studies that were legit studies. No tracing, just referencing artwork I found online. THESE I'm happy with. Did these with ballpoint pen. Let's do a thread for this maybe.
