Speaking today @jhforg.bsky.social program: "Death & Dying." It's hard for people to talk about death, but unfortunately we will all need to have that conversation some day. This program helps clinicians navigate those difficult clinical waters. jhf.org/fellowships/...
The "Healing Newsletter" on Substack: Tylenol-Autism research and how the study Pres Trump referred to is not persuasive. Also, one of the lead authors has a serious conflict of interest. Read the research to know the truth.https://theresabrown.substack.com/p/read-the-research-to-learn-whats
An introduction to our newest issue: Animalia. Beautiful, honest writing about health, care and being human, plus how animals fit into all that. www.tickettailor.com/events/belle...
A close look at the research exploring whether prenatal Tylenol use causes autism. The by-far largest study ever says there is no link. When facts are under attack and being manipulated, it's important to read the research and think for ourselves. www.cancernursingtoday.com/post/a-close...
When 13.6 million Americans lose their Medicaid and can only go to the emergency room because they have no other options to access healthcare, who’s paying for it? The American taxpayer.
There's truth in this essay about how nurses need flexibility in scheduling for our own mental health. From @nurseorg.bsky.social It's an honest and important comment on how hard and important nursing is. nurse.org/news/stepped...
Ultra-processed foods may be causing the increase in colorectal cancer among young people. Scary. We already know they are responsible for the obesity epidemic. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
I don't like having a government shutdown, but the Democrats are fighting for Medicaid & health insurance subsidies. As a nurse, I'm 100% behind that. If people can't pay for care they can't access it. We're the richest country in the world. We can do better for our citizens. @indivisible.org
I know there's a lot of gratuitous misery in our country right now, but I'm so relieved my daughter's operation went well. Sometimes focusing on the personal is where we can find the light.
My new "Healing Newsletter"--pictures and stories from my travels over the last year. A friend said he wanted travel stories as a distraction from all the political mess in the U.S. I was happy to oblige. I'll be back to health care soon enough. Here's the link: open.substack.com/pub/theresab...
I like what you say. Someone saying the main problem at American Universities is "victimhood" hasn't spent much time at a university lately. I'd say the number one problem is the incredible cost of college. Overfocus on athletics, and all the problems you mention.

Last Spring when I was in Spain I caught the flu and was so sick it scared me. I had forgotten to get a flu shot in the rush of leaving the country for 3 months. Never again. I may still get sick after getting the shots, but not nearly as sick as I would be without them.

Nurses: "It is disappointing that Kaiser leadership would choose to overwork and underpay nurses, endangering patients." www.dailynews.com/2025/09/19/3...
