RECAP: Blackhawks fall to Ottawa 6-4 in a wild Saturday matinee
The Chicago Blackhawks played their final game of the Eastern Canada road trip against the Ottawa Senators. The Hawks were coming in off a loss to the Montreal Canadiens 4-1. This was fourth straight game without Connor Bedard. First period Early in the first period, it appeared that Tim Stutzle scored the game’s first goal. However, after a coach’s challenge, it was ruled that Arvid Sorderblom was interfered with. Less than four minutes later, Tyler Kleven scored the game’s first goal. However, this goal was mired in controversey because upon review, it appeared that Brady Tkachuk interfered with Soderblom.

RECAP: Montreal defeats Chicago 4-1 with four unanswered goals
The Chicago Blackhawks continued their road swing through Canada with a Thursday night matchup against their Original Six brethren, the Montreal Canadiens, at Bell Centre. The Hawks were coming off a disappointing 3-2 loss in Toronto where they held a 2-0 lead through two periods then gave up three in the third and took the loss. The Hawks started Spencer Knight in net against Montreal’s Jakub Dobes. This was the third straight game the Hawks played without Connor Bedard. First period Alex Vlasic thought he gave the Hawks an early 1-0 lead, however, Montreal challenged the play successfully for goaltender interference so the game stayed scoreless.

And the "he's injured" excuse is not valid. If he's that hurt, SIT HIM. Put him on IR. They were never playoff bound. There is zero reason to play him hurt. Enough excuses.
Dug into Frank Nazar a bit.

His PDO is almost even.

The Chicago Blackhawks came into Tuesday night looking to get back to winning. They had dropped contests against St. Louis and Detroit in their previous two games, and had not looked good against the Red Wings. The only lineup changes of note were Ethan Del Mastro switching in for Artyom Levshunov on defense and Spencer Knight taking back over in the crease. First period The Blackhawks played one of the best first periods they have played all season. In what is normally a struggle for them to get through, they outplayed their opponents finally.

The Chicago Blackhawks took on the Detroit Red Wings in their second game of a back to back. It was their first game without Connor Bedard this season. To fill Bedard's spot on the roster, Chicago recalled Nick Lardis from the Rockford IceHogs. Lardis has 26 points in 24 games in the AHL. Ironically, Lardis was recalled on the same day that Frank Nazar was recalled the year prior. Sadly, Lardis was not enough to get Hawks on the scoresheet as they were shut out 4-0 by John Gibson. First period…

Spencer Knight stopped all 21 shots for the Chicago Blackhawks in a 3-0 whitewashing over the New York Rangers on Wednesday night at the United Center. Connor Bedard added a goal and an assist to snap Chicago's losing streak. With the victory, Chicago improves their record to 13-11-6 for the season. Louis Crevier scored his third of the season in the second period, shorthanded, beating Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin at the 7:08 mark. The goal was assisted by Matt Grzelcyk and Jason Dickinson. Crevier showed the fans his best Bedard imitation with a little shake and bake with a quick breakaway move.

The Chicago Blackhawks were the embodiment of the phrase "it's not how you start, it's how you finish" on Sunday against the Anaheim Ducks in a game that pitted Connor Bedard against Leo Carlsson, the top two picks of the 2023 NHL Draft. The Blackhawks could not have had a worse start, yet the team showed some resolved and was able to win this game. The Hawks' comeback was fueled by Bedard.
