🎉 Positive River News!

October is well underway, but before we get too far ahead, let’s take one last look back, because September brought plenty of good news for our rivers.

From citizen science action and volunteers making a real difference to rivers being reopened, there’s lots to celebrate.

💙Manchán was a vitally important spiritual friend to our landscapes and waterways. His ability to kindly and beautifully re-weave forgotten folklore with our modern understanding of rivers into beautiful, emotive stories was unmatched.
He'll be greatly missed: theriverstrust.org/about-us/new...

2,000 of you got out this weekend & surveyed a river with #BigRiverWatch 🙌

But can you make an honest social media team out of us? 👀

You've got until the end of Thurs 25th, to get your surveys in, put your river on the map, & bring us closer to our (slightly ambitious) claim.

Done a survey for your local river yet? @theriverstrust.bsky.social are encouraging everybody to do so in the next few weeks. If you were @greenmanfest.bsky.social in August in Einstein's garden @cardiffuniversity.bsky.social researchers were telling you why you should!
