Fulltime at Willoughby.

A good fight from VFC in the second half, including a Norman Jr bicycle kick attempt and a penalty shout.

Ultimately though, a clinical performance from Cruz Azul. 3-0.

We're back!

The year starts, as it did last year, with some CONCACAF action at a CPL venue.

Last year, Cavalry put on a memorable showing against Pumas. Can VFC pull off something similar tonight against Cruz Azul?

A very tall task!

A double dose of Deep Dives on a Friday.

AZ might look like a natural Jayden Nelson replacement, but our own @wilkinscaleb.bsky.social breaks down how the young American brings something different from Vancouver’s other recent attacking additions.

Axel Schuster speaking very honestly.

Despite reaching multiple major finals in '25, the club was dead last in MLS in terms of revenue.

30+ prospective owners have looked at the club, but none are interested in buying the team with the current setup.

Will be very interesting to hear from Axel Schuster on this in just under an hour.

That said, pretty concerning update, both for cup matches this year and for the 2-5 year outlook in Vancouver.

Empire Field 2.0?

A LOT of interesting and concerning stuff in this email sent out to Whitecaps season ticket holders this morning.

Stadium talks with BC Place are not going great.

We need the return of a Tempire.

An interesting play from the Whitecaps.

Though Jackson has played more centrally, I imagine the intent here would be to fill the Ahmed/Nelson role, especially without Gauld in the mix for a couple of months.

Can Sørensen get the most out of another young attacker?

#VWFC
Sources 🚨Vancouver Whitecaps are in negotiations to sign AZ Jackson from Jagiellonia Bialystok Meczyki reported first. #VWFC

Would be a loan until the summer if it goes through.

I think one of the biggest questions looming over this season is if Gauld can stay healthy, especially with Ahmed and Nelson out the door.

If this surgery helps provide that clarity, it's worth the short term pain.

#VWFC
VWFC Captain Ryan Gauld underwent a successful arthroscopic debridement on his left knee and is expected to make a full return by April.

Help us wish our captain  a speedy recovery 💙

Some quick thoughts on Vancouver's first friendly.

-Conditions were almost unplayable, hard to see much technically or tactically.
-Berhalter showing off his class and service.
-Priso continuing to look very comfortable at CB.

Larraz was one of the three players within the league that our @wilkinscaleb.bsky.social identified as a good fit for midfield depth (article linked below).

Really like this for the Whitecaps, and should be pretty budget friendly.

Sensible Whitecaps Transfers: Striker Depth
With the departure of Daniel Rios, the Whitecaps only have one striker over the age of 20. This has led to a more experienced centre-forward being on a lot of people’s offseason wishlists.

The Whitecaps are getting quite a good haul back for Jayden Nelson. 1.25m GAM + 17th Superdraft pick.

At 23, I still think there's a lot of potential there with the young Canadian, but if this indicates the club will be able to keep Ahmed, hard to complain.
