My latest article allows me to nerd out about two of my favourite things in gaming - The Legend of Zelda and retro Sega!

Because when Sega attempted to replicate the style and success of Zelda in their own games, the results were often as weird and wonderful as you might expect.

Most people find desert levels boring.

Which is totally fine! But I think there is more depth to these hot and sandy settings than many gamers give them credit for - particularly from a narrative and thematic point of view.
