My latest interview is with Jonnie Fielding who runs Bowl of Chalk walking tours in London.

We chatted about exploring London on foot and his new book, Why is Downing Street Painted Black? (and 364 other fun London facts), which comes out on 25 September.

I’m going to ponder this. It’s an excellent question.

It’s been three years since I started The Writer’s Walk so I’ve written about why I started it as a bit of a reintroduction.

I’m co-hosting a #CopywritersUnite night on Monday 1 September, from 6.30pm at The Windmill, on The Cut near Waterloo.

CopywritersUnite nights are informal drinks with copywriters and copy lovers. No tickets, no agenda, no speakers. It’s free to come along – we buy our own drinks.

Hope to see you!

Here’s an edition from The Writer’s Walk archive that pairs a moonlit walk and with some reflective writing.

Meet Emily Ash Powell.

We chatted about how she got into copywriting, the hurdles she kicked down along the way, how to make the perfect crisp sandwich, and why everyone is interesting when you’re interested in them.

Seems to have worked. Perhaps the cooling effect of gravel.
Now there’s a sentence I never thought I’d write!

Such a beautiful day for a morning walk.

The highlight was spotting this welly boot on the fence in front of the Wanstead Park grotto. From a certain angle it looks like the grotto’s about to eat it. Or is that just me?!
The ruins of the Wanstead Park grotto, seen through the bars of a green metal fence. There’s a green child-sized wellington boot stuck upside down on the fence. The grotto has a large archway in it with three smaller arches above which give the impression of a face with a big wide open mouth.
