lastly (i think), i hated the spoiler toggle. i like that they try to make it fun and quiz-like, but in no sleep i didn’t realise what i was doing was the spoiler toggle and ended up playing the game spoiler free.

those are my thoughts! weak game but still fun to play.

it was so fleshed out and well done that i wonder if the devs had the idea of explaining pewter’s redemption (which was omitted in nirvana initiative) but didn’t know what to do with it/didn’t think it would warrant an entire game) so they tried to create something to fit his character arc into.

this would have also aligned better and even paralleled with pewter’s storyline of letting go and moving forward.

speaking of pewter, his second somnium was the best part of the game. i hesitate to say i think maybe the game was created around it?

i loved hina as a character, and found the ‘ai sakura is an individual just as valid as real sakura’ idea and throuple (for want of a better word) ending intriguing, but felt a better ending for her would have focused on handling grief, escapism, and letting go of what she’s lost.

it felt like a dated concept, ai being as important as humans, better suited to the likes of star trek (data + emh) or even the bicentennial man movie. choosing this lesson for this game felt several years too late.

the final theme of ‘ai and humans are the same and deserve the same love and care’ felt…off. within the game’s canon, i understand it, however from a lens of life today, it doesn’t work. ai is used to steal ideas, misinform, and manipulate, all while destroying the environment.

i am glad, however, that it ended up not being as big of a plot point as the first escape made it to be. i was relieved that the following escape rooms were based on urban legends, and enjoyed those ones greatly.

i hated that ota and moma were the other escape room players, especially moma.

first of all, get iris out of that bunny outfit

second, i felt very uncomfortable with the amount of conspiracy theory stuff in the game. it felt super forced, and i didn’t like how the particular ones they focused on in this game were antisemitic, eg lizard people + new world order

it was a pretty good game, and my one minute review tiktok will be up in the next few weeks, but wanted to expand on some things i had to say about no sleep for kaname date.
