I'm going to say a couple of things about Alex Pretti's handgun, that I don't think people who do not shoot will initially understand.
This photo was almost immediately distributed by the feds. I think that doing so was, for them and their attempt to whitewash the murder, a *huge* error.

It is this: that is a firearm owned by a responsible gun owner who takes concealed carry very seriously, and is probably technically proficient. The person who carries it is going to immediately be recognized as "one of us."

Pretti is not just a white guy, from the midwest, who helps vets at the VA. In many cases, without even thinking about it, people in that community will immediately take Pretti seriously in a way that they otherwise likely would not, simply because of what that hardware says about him.

At Target Driveup only White employees are now bringing groceries to my car. Last week Feds abducted nearby Target citizen employees. I’m sure non-White workers are afraid to show up everywhere. (My partner & I are helping a family afraid to come out of their home. This arrangement is common)
