Announcing My First Zombie, a gentle parody of picture books, perfect for children 4-8 who like a story with a little bit more than fluffy bunnies or sparkling unicorns.

Wide availability 20 Sept
The cover of My First Zombie, featuring a child in a lab coat holding the hands of a tall zombie in a cute style. There is a blue sky with fluffy clouds and they are standing on a hill. To one side is the top of a gravestone.

Oh same. I’d loved reading to kids. My favourite one was called the Library Lion.

Thanks! I used to be a primary teacher, and teaching kids to write is what really got me back into writing. I read this as part of a book week workshop day I did for Fulham Gardens Primary, and it had a really great response.
As always for an indie, the trick is letting people know it exists.

I also have books that aren’t finished years later, either because they just didn’t work, or they’ll have to wait until I’m a better writer.

I’ve written first drafts in six weeks and taken longer than 18 months to complete some. A book takes as long or as short as it does with no meaning beyond the time available to pull out my hair in frustration.

Huge nostalgia joy for Tron over here. It blew my mind as a kid.

Am I the kind of guy who forgets he already has a drink? Yes, I am. At least I have all the fuel I need for writing.

Heath Farnden from the Antipodean d20 will be there. Super nice guy.

Feels very Albo. So much talk about what needs to be done then tinkers at the edge of everything except employment law and childcare.

Maybe they should consider actually having some damn in-house expertise. Consulting is such a grift.

No data, but I expect there is a bit of that exchange, but perhaps not a lot. Parking costs aren't any less.

Are they still swimming in a sea false balance and shallow takes?

Santa makes a deal with a demon which allows his reindeer to fly. It also might be the source of Rudolf's red nose.
