art, but i also tell you about it

taking place after any of the puyotet games, this is how i imagined things could go
i decided to turn them back into original OCs because i couldn't find any actual reason to keep them as phighting ocs, and i think i could do more if i do my own thing. thats all really lol

still keeping the horns though those are cool i like those
ok so i have placeholder names for these two at least
That drawing in blue (not light, the darker one) pen with lantern and the other one is one of my favorites. That's mostly how I want to draw them. Mostly

i really like the doodles I did with the winter outfits. that was fun
ocs (sketchbook) #2
I like my drawings of Lantern here a lot. I also like how I drew that tree

all of these drawings were made very carefree, and i wanna draw like that more often. It's more fun!
ocs #1 (digital stuff)
now, drawing maguro and ris is harder because i simply haven't practiced drawing them (the only reason i can even draw ringo is because i drew her so much when i first got into puyo that it's practically muscle memory..)

but i think both are fun. Ecolo on the other hand i have no idea how to draw
ringo is still my favorite character but i've gained a much larger appreciation for the suzuran characters in general; All Four Of Them

(man, only four characters in suzuran feels kind of sad. i'd love to see a suzuran expansion someday)
I tried to recreate the 4B pencil I tend to use in real life. I think it feels similar enough, but it could use some improvements..

anyways i'm getting back into Puyo maybe you guys will see more Puyo
ocs #1 (digital stuff)
oh also i made them not phighting ocs anymore. i realised the main thing keeping me from doing this was that i really like drawing horns (I couldn't really find any way to expand upon phighting stuff with ocs, so now they're an original thing again)

i'm keeping lantern's horns though i love those
also i'm getting back into puyo puyo so maybe something will come out of that. maybe a drawing or two but not nearly as crazy as when i first found out about the series
anyway i'll be posting a bunch of sketchbook doodles about them soon. i just gotta draw them more!

i'm trying to feel out their character bit by bit by drawing (because i'm really bad at writing out what i want a character to be)
i still can't come up with a name for that fish hybrid oc thing. that Thing. What do i call them
lantern and that fish one are in my head again. i keep drawing them
a big reason why i now prefer drawing with a drawing tablet and stylus (pen? pen stylus?) over drawing with finger is because drawing with a stylus is just faster for me. i like being fast with drawing, especially sketches

(and also pen pressure but that's not as important to me)
-for me, and that was really nice to have.

my favorite traditional art medium is pencils on textured paper. it's so fun. i love pencils

i try not to erase anything in pencil tho, because i like the permanence of ink and i wanna carry that over to pencil

i'd erase it if i draw over it with pen tho
that got me to loosen up my approach to art and just draw more. explore more ideas, fail more, learn more, etc.
getting used to drawing with pen made me think of a certain drawing looking 'bad' not as a failure of my skills, but instead something that will just happen. made art a lot less stressful
r and over and over and making sure every little detail was PERFECT

what snapped me out of this was when i got a hyperfixation on puyo puyo and just NEEDED to draw the characters. i started drawing at school, realised i liked drawing with pens, and then filled a whole ass sketchbook in a month
looking back, i think the importance of sketchbooks (or anything like them) is that you don't just get to erase everything if you don't like it. especially if you're working with like pen and ink

my main problem back then when i was only drawing on my phone/tablet/etc was redoing lines over and ove
getting a midi keyboard, surprisingly, was a decision i did not regret!
i got a (surprisingly cheap) one and it works really well! it is a lot easier figuring out what notes im gonna use
if anyone's wondering which one i got, it is the m-vave smk25
adding to this, i've been drawing a lot in my sketchbook. it helps a lot, i like sketchbooks
What needs improvement?
this is my thoughts on what i could improve on in art and music, at least right now. thought i'd share 'cause i find it interesting
