On the anniversary of my stroke I am thinking of the powerful Irish proverb: "Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine," which translates to "Under the shelter of each other, people survive".
May this same spirit of community shelter carry us through the troubles roiling American cities.

My telematic artwork "Fire Year"will debut at The Peale Museum, Thursday evening, at the Opening for SPARK: Industrial Afterglow. My work takes on catastrophic fires, which have global and personal impacts. Last January my daughter was a climate crisis evacuee in Los Angeles.
