Depends on security of tenure of existing tenants. Sale of land to mitigate IHT may impact those on insecure tenancies. Don’t think the Paul Cheshire article really does justice to the big role played by pension funds etc. Complex!

Let's not also forget that large financial institutions & private owners own a large proportion of UK agricultural land which is then let to farmers (this has also led to an increase in land values) The sale of land to mitigate IHT will also therefore impact the tenanted sector....
