We’ve all got our stickles!! I guess I do so much corporate work that I’m too busy changing abominations like “outreaching” and “incenting” to really be fussed over “over.”

(Would you allow “over” where I’ve used it above?)

This guidance was rescinded a few iterations ago in the AP stylebook. They are now fine with “over” being used for quantities. Of course, your personal preference is more than free to differ with that.

My issue is not with the use of “over,” but “over” with a quantity that seems unusually specific.
