Cameras, and documents can be confiscated and destroyed. Witnesses can easily become additional victims. The rule of law only exists when those in power adhere to it.

I believe the Tangerine Tyrant promised he'd end Daylight Savings TIme at some point during one of his rants on the campaign trail (it's hard to keep track). That's about the only thing he's said that I could get behind. Of course, it would come with some horrible caveat to appease his CHUDs ...
