Chatting with 20s GenZ daughter about the state of the world and the notion of hope. Some days I feel it and have a sense of playing a part to change things for the better. Her response was, 'That's your generation dad. My generation grew up knowing there's no f****ING hope, lol'. We need to talk!

Beautiful turnout for the anti fascist/ anti racism march yesterday in Sheffield UK. There was definitely more of us than them! Reassuring in these crazy times when the media and governments seem intent on promoting hate and division ❤️❤️❤️

Good question
Isn’t this what James Timpson was appointed to help with? Seemed like a good idea but what’s he actually doing?

Sooooo Sheffield. Always raises a smile. Though surprising someone hadn't come along by now and painted its namesake an autumnal orange #outdoorcity. Any other other treasured Sheffield or South Yorkshire physical, architectural or landscape #oxymorons out there? #Sheffield

Can't stop thinking about the Mickey Van Der Ven goal last night. Comparisons made with Sonny, but it immediately took me back 15 years to Gareth Bale's goal against Inter youtu.be/dI2GwCf2ABk?...

This is such a rich piece of half term reading from @carlhendrick.substack.com. Scaffolding is more complex than it might first appear. The contingency rule is hopelessly reductive, and instead tutors must make "uncertain judgements" about support #edpsychs

While the city of culture idea is gimmicky, it has had a beneficial cultural and economic effect so I can see how it would spur some change in towns which ultimately could attract later investment. But there are a lot more towns in need. Overdue, is a Coastal Seaside Town of Culture. Desperate need.

We're going to have to acknowledge that Spurs don't have a reliably consistent striker. Even when Dom is fit he's not in that mould. Are we ready for a Bale style transformation to that role? Johnson, Kolo Muani, and Kudas all fighting for the right flank. Could one of them convert to a 9? #COYS

I found out today that crocodiles can never stick out their tongues, a group of flamingoes is called a flamboyance, it's physically impossible for pigs to look up at the sky (no star gazing), and a snail can take three whole years to have a nap. The Government's proposals for SEND reform are coming out very soon.

Urgent action is needed to tackle the huge socio-economic disparities in the system ⤵️
