I spent eight months making 104 gelatin silver prints for a photo project in my home darkroom. Sharing here what I learned along the way.

My Ilford filters came in a notepad-style holder, which isn’t practical. Finding a specific grade in the darkroom was inconvenient, and since the filters are so thin, they occasionally slip from my hands. This 3d-printable system solved all the issues for me. It also simplified split-grade printing.

I designed a system for multigrade filters with filter carriages, a storage box that makes it easy to find the required grade under the dim safelight, and an under-lens filter holder that screws directly into a 40.5 mm lens thread. makerworld.com/en/models/16...

They were ultra fast with processing the film. I'm not a big fan of the Noritsu scans, with green shadows and no black point set. There was only so much I could do with the JPEGs. I can’t wait to collect the negatives and rescan them myself. Anyway, here are the photos!

Yesterday, there was a Harman Phoenix 2 launch photowalk organised by Fotoimpex in Berlin. I shot a roll of Phoenix 2 in 120 with my Bronica S2A.

First time shooting positive film. I like its fine grain, but it's so hard to expose in high-contrast lighting; the shadows turned out almost black.

Finally, the 120 film scanning setup is sorted out! After half a year of searching for an old Epson V700/750 at a good price, I found V750 for 150 euro yesterday. I'm so pleased with the results it produces after adjusting the film holder height.

Even though the Nokton 50mm f1.5 is a fantastic lens, the lack of a focus tab was irritating. This $5 attachable tab with sticky tape arrived today. It was easy to install and fits perfectly ✨

I am passively keeping an eye on the V700/V750. It’s older but has a higher optical resolution. Sometimes, they are listed for almost the same price as the V600, but I haven’t been lucky enough to get one yet.

Still unable to find a reasonably priced scanner for 120 film, so I had to take a picture of the negatives with my phone.

I developed a test roll from the poor man’s Hasselblad (Bronica S2) that I've brought from Japan. It's prone to the focusing issue due to ground glass shift, but this body looks clean and serviced. The negatives turned out clinically sharp! Only an indent was missing on one photo. #filmphotography
