Cursed Relics Week 3. I was sick for a while so this is the abridged version of what could have been but I'm still happy with it.

Week Three's prompts:
• Nightroot Fruit
• Abyss Crown
• Eclipse Orb

Big thanks to past me for writing down all the info I need for an annual form I have to fill out so that current me doesn't have to make a phone call to get answers.
It's time once again for Cursed Relics, a no stress October art project created by @albabbgg.bsky.social . There's three prompts a week for four weeks and you can draw them separately or together.

Week One's prompts:
• Shadowfang Blade
• Lunar Scars
• Moonlight Scythe

Oh hey, I'm doing Cursed Relics again this year. Just wanted to post that for accountability.
The first drawing is in progress will be all three of week one's prompts combined like I did last year. Not sure if future weeks will be combined or not. I definitely did *not* plan ahead.
Fun fact: This power manifests most frequently as finding good parking. Thankfully there hasn't been a downside to that yet.
Did I ever tell you about my superpower of serendipity? Small lucky things happen often but bigger luck usually comes with a cost.
For example, I was recently at a tightly packed gathering with lots of people but I didn't get sick afterwords.

The price arrived today as a broken lawn mower belt.
Nothing hurts quite like finding the perfect name for your new character then discovering the same name is used in a popular video game so now you have to find something different to avoid the comparisons.

You know how you can click an image in a post here and it embiggins it? It would be very nice if you could click it a second time to pop it out to full size. I know I can open the image in a new tab to do that but I follow so many artists I'd be spending half my day opening and closing new tabs.
Not sure why I'm seeing so much sexy Watto #art being reposted but here's something I drew waaaay back in 2010 that somehow fits right in. You're welcome and I'm sorry.
Saw a new doctor today and our very first exchange went like this:
Doctor: Are you Todd?
Me: That's me, hi. How are you?
Doctor: Good, How are you?
Me: I'm good how are you? Oh, I just asked that.
Doctor: *laughs* I'm still good!

And I didn't die of embarrassment so I'm calling it character growth.
This is a bit of a cheat as far as posting new art goes since I started it over a year ago. It was a replacement PC for a #Pathfinder2e game that had a TPK & ultimately ended up abandoned. It became a go-to test piece for rendering & brush experiments for several months but I'm calling it done.

I sat down to draw immediately after posting this but instead cleaned my desk, made & ate dinner, spent 20 minutes deciding what podcast to listen to, then ran dailies in a video game, which is, sadly, pretty standard operating procedure in case you were wondering why my art posts are months apart.
I recently realized I haven't made new personal art in nearly 8 months. I keep telling myself I'm better off with quality over quantity but it turns out the lack of quantity has led to a sharp dip in quality.

So I'm going to create and share more art, even if it's just for me, even if it's junk.

Why are seemingly inconsequential decisions sometimes the hardest? I've wanted to change my Twitch username since they introduced that feature but I never actually do it. I'm a lurker on most channels so it would practically go unnoticed, yet I still cling to the name I no longer use anywhere else.
I'm really liking what I'm seeing so far for #Starfinder2e. The classes seem particularly well designed and the ancestries are all so interesting I'll have to play a shapeshifting astrazoan just so I can try them all with one character. I'm definitely looking forward to playing this game.
While out and about today I saw school supplies on sale (or as some of us call them, analog TTRPG supplies), a store putting out Halloween decorations, and I even snagged a pumpkin spice cappuccino (from a gas station, but still).

Fall is on the horizon folks and I feel my power returning. 🍂🎃
Happy Star Wars Day! Here's a drawing from waaay back in 2016 when I foolishly felt the need to correct a spelling error on the internet.

You ever absentmindedly tap your ear in a public place thinking you were pausing the music so you could hear better only to realize the sound was coming from the store's overhead speakers and you aren't actually wearing earbuds?
Nah, me neither. 🫤

You know how in some TTRPGs if you fail at a task you can't try again until you gain a level? I think I might have leveled up because I just solved a problem I've been stumped on for months.
