In addition to abolishing ICE and criminal investigations, we need to think about reparations for those who survive being brutalized by the regime.
I would suggest, at a minimum, permanent legal status for anyone injured or detained for more than 24 hours regardless of criminal background.

Another thing we saw in Chicago. They terrorize neighborhoods but pretend no one actually lives there. A man in my neighborhood just happened to be coming home during a CBP kidnapping and ended up with six broken ribs.
The 6-month-old that DHS is tweeting about here lived in the neighborhood and the baby’s father was just trying to evacuate his family after federal agents had shot someone.

From *any* angle, strategically, politically, ethically, you name it, openly airing a way to defend his state against ICE (sending in the National Guard) in the wake of a murder, and then just not doing it as things keep getting worse, without explanation, is indefensible.
How are you going to protect people?

In 2022 I started tracking changes in how news outlets were describing trans people, and set up a bot to record every article pushed to the Google News index based on a handful of search phrases, including “biological sex” in both the US and UK. The amount in 2023 alone was absolutely staggering.

I've been thinking about the whole trigger warning debate of yesteryear, and how weird it was, because there was like a list of things that were acceptable triggers? Like no one (outside of Tumblr) called for an imdb keywords description of every movie it was like sex, violence, etc.
