🍄‍🟫 The last remaining treaty limiting the number of nuclear weapons the US and Russia can have pointed at one another expires next week.

It will be the first time since the '70s there is no legal limit on the US and Russia's nuclear arsenals.

I've made a whole video about it. Out on Nebula now.
You can now also watch this video on YouTube!

Bruce Springsteen Minneapolis song vs. Billy Bragg Minneapolis song.

What a week for dad culture.

I keep getting served TikToks by the behind-the-scenes account of the Daily Mail Group New Media unit.

It does appear you can still have a cool Buzzfeed-esque media job if you're willing to work at the racism factory.

Enjoying the way the FT makes no bones about using the language of “bets” and “gamblers” to talk about Polymarket.

It’s times like this that it’s great that Alistair Campbell hosts the biggest political podcast in the UK.

Because, if anyone’s gonna have an insight into shakily-justified invasions…

5 hours ago. Fascinated to know what he says, doubtful he’s got this kinda moment in him.

The Oxford English Dictionary lets you choose whether or not your month's access auto-renews or not.

Heroes.

It's a powerful example of the misaligned incentives of contemporary society that Jimmy Carr is currently talking politics and philosophy on podcasts rather than spending a month at a Corn Exchange somewhere doing Panto.

Frankly embarrassing to believe that the solution to the Labour Party’s polling woes is…

…to carry on with exactly the same strategy which is obviously going down like a lead balloon.

My wife turned on Call The Midwife and the nuns were facing-off with the Triads in Hong Kong. Which was unexpected.

One thing I didn't manage to squeeze into my recent video about Christian Nationalism is that Reform UK advisor James Orr has (naturally) launched a podcast.

And no-one is listening to it.

Regularly struggling to break 1,000 views.

I enjoy how this infographic from the European Commission's Digital Markets Act minisite takes the victory lap of trampling over Google's brand guidelines.

"Youtube" with no capital "T", but a capital on "Google Search". "Google Ads" just called "Google". "Google Android".

“A prediction market for short-form content”

America really speed ran a national gambling addiction.

The history of energy privatisation is fantastic.

Decades of the government and regulators trying to enthuse people about being able to switch energy suppliers, and the nation responding with a firm "no, thank you".

"Guy who thinks he's the only one who knows they're not renationalising the rolling stock" is becoming a real epidemic in the UK.

If they make me the next Director-General of the BBC, I’ll demand that the Open University team on University Challenge appear via Zoom as a fun bit.

I'm taking Rachel Reeves discussing the budget whilst holding a DJI mic as a personal attack.

Going on Twitter these days is really funny because it's just endless apologia for the worst aspects of society.

"America might have terrible healthcare, but consider the upside: it's also home to extraordinary levels of inequality"

I couldn't escape adverts for testosterone replacement therapy.

So I did what any sane person would do.

I took four blood tests and interviewed a doctor, a scientist, and a senior investigator for the Advertising Standards Authority.

All in my latest video...

This year's attempt by Adobe to bump my Creative Cloud price by more than 10% year-on-year comes with the added fun of them subtly taking "All Apps" out of the tier name.

But, hey, I can't wait for that nebulous "new value".

The terrifying thing here is that any Labour MPs think Wes Streeting is going to be any more popular than Starmer.

When the Tories change leadership, they're very good at presenting it as if the party has changed beyond all recognition.

I can't see Wes Streeting pulling that off.
A selection of fury from Labour MPs, ministers and advisors - “This is batshit crazy” “they are f-ing deluded” “did we watch the Tories and think, let’s have a bit of that?” “why are you slagging off your main rival and then putting him on the morning round to show everyone how much better he is”
