I find myself very frustrated with #Medicare.

Why do they cover my patients going on IV antibiotics to a transitional care unit and not home?

Seems like a good cost savings opportunity

Many patients also frustrated…

I should add, now is a really good time to get on PrEP, get on DoxyPEP if eligible,use condoms and make sure you and your sexual partners are tested.
We will see a rise in STIs ( we already were in a crisis situation before the cuts).

If you ever wonder how indiscriminate cuts affect your life, here's today's example. I consulted on a case of disseminated gonococcal infection. These isolates used to get automatically sent to cdc for testing and nationwide tracking. The lab was shut last month.

I really can't stress enough just how critical ID pharmacists are in improving patient care

Over 6 months, 10 ID pharmacists were "curbsided" w/ 1,518 Qs, 3/4 from ID attendings

89% of answers led to changes in management!!!
