Lots to carry over the mountain, but it was worth the effort to get the photo
Thanks, was super happy with the outcome
Behind the scenes. Using kitchen cooling racks and baking trays to make the various layers of the Joker’s prison bars for toy photography
Jedi Bob missed his moment for the behind the scenes shot and fell over. One of the joys of toy photography and always fighting the wind
Behind the scenes, taking pictures of this Gandalf action figure in the snow of the Austrian Alps earlier in the year. I love mixing toys and landscapes through photography.
I took this photo on a wall outside a local museum. Simple setup allowing the oval bokeh of the anamorphic lens and the contrast of colours to do their thing in the composition
I loved taking Link up into the hills to get this photograph. I then went quite strong with stylising the edit to try and push and get it matching the vibes of the games various imagery.
Some behind the scenes images of the lighting and setup of this stand off between Gandalf and the Balrog. Check out my blog post for more - toyphotographers.com/2025/09/02/l...
The dark fire will not avail you

I was lucky enough to get the new Lord of the Rings Balrog book nook Lego set to do a photographer’s review for ToyPhotographers.com. Check out the blog for more photons and behind the scenes, including lighting and setup.

Behind the scenes, another shot on the roof of the car park at work, capturing Superman flying in the light of the setting sun
Yeah atmosphere aerosol is great. Mist in a spray can. I have a smoke machine too, but the cans are much lighter for longer photography days
It was atmosphere aerosol in this case, it caught the light beautifully
Behind the scenes at a local museum/estate

I was able to capture this photo of Lady Jessica from Dune just as the sun began to drop behind the trees, and shine through these pillars.

Behind the scenes

I took Aragorn to a woodland at a local estate to get this photo. There was a moment where I had to protect him from a dog or two but I think it worked out pretty well. Joys of using a public path.
Not all who wander are lost

My first photo of this Miniwork Ranger of the North

Winter’s glitter

A pretty simple shot trying to capture the light in the snow through the anamorphic bokeh of my Frankenlens. It was only a touch cold lying in the snow to get the macro this close.

Behind the scenes, I made a paper race track with wax crayon tyre marks and a cardboard box for scenery. Motion of the model was captured in camera
