Rep. Underwood says Broadview detainees and staff had been moved before her visit, but it was still apparent that the detention center does not meet minimum standards
Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

Immigration advocates and organizers told me they're using this apparent slowdown in immigration enforcement to look back on their resistance efforts during the height of "Midway Blitz."

They're also strategizing and sharing resources with groups in North Carolina.

Earlier today, I learned about the unlivable conditions inside an apartment complex that was the recent target of an ICE raid in September.

Some of the remaining residents, who are Black, shared that the conditions were inhumane long before the September raid.
