There is no justification for violence, and importing conflicts from overseas undermines our social cohesion.

My thoughts are with the police officers in Melbourne who have been injured while trying to keep our community safe.

Today, we honour the police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

We thank them for their service and dedication to protecting our communities.

Australia has so much to offer when it comes to the arts world.

I’ve been fortunate enough to see Emily Kam Kngwarray’s works at the National Gallery of Australia. Now, her exhibition is being shared with the world at Tate Modern and they have absolutely done the pieces justice.

Australia and the UK have a long standing friendship and partnership.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood and I discussed how our two great nations can continue to work together and adapt to common challenges.

To the Palestinian people who at the moment must be feeling so invisible to the world, you are not invisible.

We see you and we will recognise you.

Recognition tells every Palestinian fighting hunger and seeking shelter: you are not invisible. The world sees you and we recognise you.

I am appalled by these threats being made against our fellow Australians, neighbours and friends.

After the Christchurch attack I joined thousands of people at Lakemba Mosque in a show of solidarity.

Today is the International Day to combat Islamophobia. There is no place for Islamophobia. Not here. Not anywhere.

Ok so this is truly bizarre. Just heard James Paterson on RN.

So Paterson’s latest position is Dutton had no way of knowing he should receive an additional briefing… despite being told publicly to get one.

The revelations this afternoon about the incident in Dural show that Peter Dutton has played directly into the hands of organised crime figures who have been trying to profit from dividing our community.

I, like all Australians, have been horrified by reports overnight of a threat being made against Al-Faisal College in western Sydney.

Australian Islamic House Masjid received abhorrent threats earlier today. After returning from Brisbane tonight I went straight to the mosque to stand in solidarity with the community. People have a right to worship in peace and safety. The government stands against the bigotry of Islamophobia.

James Paterson has done it again.

This time his misinformation was on Sky News. He claimed the only people invited to citizenship ceremonies were Labor MPs.

Wrong.

Full credit to Mr Paterson. He talks a newspaper into running a story furiously demanding the department release information that not a single Liberal MP had asked for. He might be terrible at facts but he’s clever at media.
