Given the current state of Windows and the likelihood that we'll all be forced to upgrade to 11 one way or the other, I think I might start looking into Linux.

5. Stage Fright (1987)

Michele Soavi took an already tired genre and gave it the Giallo flair in what's probably the best of the late 80s slashers. It goes against cliches with characters that actually stay together and try to fight back. They fail spectacularly, but they still get an A for effort.

The dude was asked to stop, which is a rarity for Nintendo, but decided to fuck around and find out instead. I get it's cool to criticize Nintendo for everything they do, but this is one of the instances where they did everything they could to not sue someone into oblivion.

Don't sleep on Wanatabe mode in Ghost of Yōtei, it really elevates the chill vibe when exploring and makes you feel like you're in an episode of Samurai Champloo.

4. Climax (2018)

Imagine Suspira only instead of witches, everyone was pop and locking while going absolutely mental on a very bad acid trip. The entire movie is set to the soundtrack of 80s and early 90s dance music, which was kind of a treat in itself.

So there's a kind of funny, but also kind of annoying bug in Ghost of Yōtei where your horse will run away from you when called. It seems to fix itself when you restart the game, but I really hope it gets patched out soon.

3. Rockula (1990)

It's like Cannon Film wanted to make their own Rocky Horror, had someone bang out a script in a cocaine haze and immediately put it into production. At least Toni Basil and Thomas Dolby had a good time. Is the movie good? No. Is it fun to watch with a group of friends? Absolutely.

2. The Hunger (1983)

A gothic tale set to an early 80s background and man is this movie such a vibe. It has beautiful cinematography and great practical effects, but kind of loses some of its luster after the first half.

Imagine deliberately ripping off copyrighted content without permission and then telling the rights holders it's their responsibility to opt out. There were people sued into oblivion for downloading an MP3 off of Napster, those same companies better do the same to these charlatans.

1. Pulse (2001)

What could've easily been "What if The Ring but early 2000s Internet", was instead a haunting story about loneliness and grief. Kiyoshi Kurosawa was pretty forward thinking about how isolating the Internet could become and its even more relatable today than it was 20 years ago.
