What to do when Livewire select submits null instead of value - PowerUser Guide
Hey there, friends. It’s been a while since our last post. And not without reason. In the past few months I’ve spent most of my professional time developing things in Laravel, and most things I learne...

How are ADHD devs even employable? A certain developer I know is now using the fourth different method of achieving athing in a (somewhat large) app.
And he's never rewritten the old things because it's too much work.
It's me. I'm the developer.

TIL that even if you're consistent 99 of the times in your app it can still be a huge pain to correct that one time you weren't consistent.
So many database updates.

This is why I don't think I'm a developer. I've built things that work and do what they asked it to do.
I just don't know programming on even an intermediate level.
I'm just really good at collecting the info I need to build and ship something, SADLOL.
I've done this trick in PHP and C# so far.

I'm having a lot of "This is how this works?!" moments in PHP and Laravel lately.
And I can't share it with anyone, because some of that stuff is low key embarassing.
Like how I never realized comparisons existed outside of an "if" statement, because my courses never taught me to use them outside.

I’m not really having fun playing video games lately and that’s a Bad Sign (TM) because usually the good old mental health becomes bad old mental unhealth soon after.

Me: My Alerts are broken. Why is it storing the same alert twice?!
Me, ten minutes earlier: "I'm going to store the same alert twice, but with a different user_id so it appears in the activity history of both users and not just one.
Junie when asked: "This appears to be by design?"
Indeed, Junie.

Okay, CoPilot has lost its marbles. I've asked it for some things about a story other than some programming stuff.
And now it's trying to relate all that story stuff to what I'm programming all the time.
And it's weird. It's not helping AT ALL, LMAO.

Okay, Laravel.
Why does your encryption section refer to "encryptString" and "decryptString" and then has helpers for decrypt() and decrypt() that are apparently shorthand for Crypt::encrypt and Crypt::decrypt which are completely different encryptio approaches NOT DOCUMENTED IN THE ENCRYPTION DOC.

I may not be the best developer. And I might get frustrated tons of times.
But ever since I've been developing CATS I've had more "Yay, I get to work on a problem!" days than I've ever had before.
Takes me back to my Network Admin days.

I can't stress enough how much I dislike content walls like Medium's "Sign up and give us your data to finish reading this mediocre article".
No.
I'll make up the rest.
The second part was about their clown fetish. And how they're banned from the circus.
And I should never take their advice.

American socialism is the weirdest because they don't fund it through taxes (ewwww, Europe commie socialism) but through GoFundMe, online begging, working four jobs and just straight up being a third world country.
God forbid they spent some taxes on social wealth instead of actual socialism.
