i’m usually on top of my emails at the beginning of a semester but most of my messages to other people seem to be floating in some kind of ether. response may or may not come. this keeps happening. i lose heart. i become other people 😬

i learned as much about digital literature in the process as i did about people management & time management & expectations management (if any peer/junior scholar wants to know more about my takeaways, DM & i’ll get into the details).
the book was published this summer. 3/7

editing the volume turned out to be fun, yes, but also challenging for many reasons, especially the fact that i was working with scholars based in different corners of the world (india, ghana, hong kong, australia, norway, for example) during a global pandemic. 2/7

i started working on the edited volume, GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES ON DIGITAL LITERATURE, soon after submitting the full draft of my monograph OUT OF MIND for peer review, imagining that it would be exciting to collaborate with scholars/writers creating & critiquing digital texts.🧵 1/7

before submitting an abstract to an international conference, i have to check whether vfs handles their visas & how bad the wait times are. as someone with an indian passport, the amount of time, energy, money i have spent on visas & immigration to keep my academic career going is … 😢😪
