What I mean when I tell my friends that I’m not sure I deserve a PhD is that I’ve just spent the past five minutes annoyed at some water for not boiling when I simply had not turned on the stove
Best adventure ever! Can’t wait for the next one!🧙🏻‍♀️
Back home after the #rsa2025 and a wonderful week in Boston! It wouldn’t have been complete with out a visit to Salem too!

WTF call me an academic snob but this sums up PERFECTLY my problem with non-specialistic publications about witchcraft
I wish I could be sarcastic about working at 9PM on a Saturday on the lines of “do a PhD, they said, it’ll be fun, they said” but everyone did indeed warn me and it is just completely, thoroughly, truly my fault

#historians #arthistorians of #witchcraft help! I’m hoping to argue that this print in Guazzo’s Compendiun Maleficarum is the ONLY image showing animals that are witches transformed (to enter the victims’ houses more easily) and NOT familiars as all other images. Anyone knows of others?
