Yup, the panic/speed mode definitely settles in around the last day to two days. And all it accomplishes is stress, bc at that point there's no way I can possibly get everything done. 🫠

Seriously! I can understand people getting a name wrong if it's an uncommon or unusual spelling and they have NOTHING TO REFERENCE. But if you're responding to an email where the user's address is their name AND they've written their name in their sig, there's no bloody excuse!

Right? Things like this are why I get an eye twitch when parents come up with odd, "unique" spellings for their kid's names. My brother in Christ, people can't even handle double checking whether a name does or doesn't have an E or an H. You think they're going to be able to remember your bullshit.

Oh fuck, yeah, that one always bewildered me at work. Dude, you had to spell it right in order for the email to actually get to me, so why do you get it WRONG where I have to read it? 😒

Concerning last names... Funny enough, my maiden name is also one that can be spelled with or without an E. Mine had the E, and people CONSTANTLY left it out. What people have against my E's has always bewildered me.

Oh yes, shortening names without being given permission to do so is infuriating to me too. I haven't really had to deal with it myself, bc you can't really shorten Tracey, but I've seen it in practice quite a lot, and you can always tell when the person whose name is changed is NOT pleased.

Oh, yes, I can only imagine. My grandmother was Katherine, and my highschool boyfriend's mother was Catherine, and they both had their letters flipped out CONSTANTLY.

"Names are important". EXACTLY. It's a respect thing, in my opinion. If you can't be bothered to spare half an extra brain cell to make sure you're spelling my name right, I can only assume that you have less than zero respect for me.

...because the neat-and-tidiness of doing things in increments of 5 makes his brain happy. Kinda like how someone might refuse to leave the TV's volume on an odd number, because odd numbers are "itchy". lol

I can definitely see why you would say that, in retrospect. lol I have a cousin with OCD, though, so I can confidently say that's not what it is. He's not, like, COMPELLED to do it that way, and he doesn't have negative reactions if he can't do it that way, or anything like that. He just likes it...
