👋 Hi, I’m Trey – I make things in my shed
🖨️ I'm addicted to 3D Printing
🏃 I like to run
If anyone has resources they swear by to learn Fusion 360 let me know.
Ok, I think it's time to finally learn Fusion 360. I want to level up the things I can make with these printers.

Blender just doesn't feel like I can get the precision I want for printing.

AirPods survive the washer and dryer.

That was unexpected

I've been enjoying using Swift lately. Admittedly I don't know it deep enough to talk too intelligently on the language design yet.

The fact that the website includes neovim setup instructions really shows the ecosystem is at least trying to break out of being a tool only for IOS development.

neovim built-in package manager is probably all you need

also moved over to blink-cmp, it's nice

I can probably simplify more, but happy where it's at again

woohoo

I now can do

"git git@ new-repo"

it'll create a bare repo on my local server and if provided setup to push to tangled if I want it public

if I can automate the tangled repo creation that'd be awesome

tangled.org/@treybastian... has the sauce

@leaflet.pub write-up coming soon

hey #runners what do you do to stay motivated during the miserable autumn and winter months?

Especially Scottish runners, you know how dreary it gets here.

I used to sit in an IRC channel in my much younger days where we had a commit bot. Basically it watched our CVS server for commits and would post em in IRC.

It was fun just chatting and seeing commits flow in as we all worked on separate random fun projects.

I wonder if people still do that 🤔

hey @tangled.org, if I create bare repos on my knot myself will they get picked up?

I use my own script to create repos on my own server that configures my public ones to push to other remotes

I want to automate creating that remote for public repos too if possible

I’ve stopped using all AI assistance where possible and things feel saner.

No I’m not talking AI psychosis.

I’m talking programming is fun again.

writing is fully mine again.

graphics I make are fully mine again.

I like the idea of tools that make me better, but these tools did not do that.

Well this didn't happen, but it's coming

now I'm migrating my repos to my home server

any public repos will on commit get pushed to my own knot and be on @tangled.org

I'm still debating if I want to mirror on GitHub or not also. I'm leaning no tbh
today is the day I'll finally move to my PDS 😂

I set this up like 2 weeks ago and haven't gotten to touch it since.

I wonder if a professional social network (think LinkedIn) is actually possible without devolving into unhinged levels of grandstanding and sales motions.

Any #3dprinter people ever use conductive filament?

How was it? What did you make? What were the gotchas?

It's interesting, Ultima Online: Outlands has done Ultima Online better for the last 7 years and better than EA ever did.

TurtleWoW looks to be doing the same to WoW, it's almost as if game companies need to actually take player feedback instead of "You think you do, but you don't"

Infuriating NHS bureaucracy

My son has an appointment on Halloween, and also a really fun school day planned.

Phoned up to see if I could reschedule. I spoke to a wonderful woman who found a free appointment on Monday.

Let's do it!

NOPE the system puts him back to the bottom of the waitlist

The big lie billionaires have sold the working class is that the country being white with Christian values is what made a strong working class.

Nothing to do with the 90% top end tax rates on corporations, which btw didn’t stop people from getting rich, or the US going to the moon.

I see some variation of this comment about "vibe coding" everywhere:

"I get Claude Code to build me a detailed implementation plan into a file"

"I chat about the plan to ensure it's sound"

"I have Claude Code implement the plan"

I can only conclude it's bots posting these things.
