Well that was exciting. After a (planned) power outage today parts of the home network (big place, many network switches etc) had managed to arp poison itself.

One of the kids had no Internet, while everything was seemingly fine for everybody else. No errors in my dashboards. Pinging the router […]

So if the AI bubble bursts there will be a shitload of GPUs and memory consumers can buy cheaply to run better local AI models?

FUCK

I just had my first "LLMs can actually do shit" moment when it comes to software development. I've created two Python scripts since before that took the output from the meshtastic cli application and rendered some nice output.

Today I just asked - still the local small LLM that is in no […]

@nopatience I wouldn't have known about it in that detail either unless it so happened it's part of a presentation I'm currently doing for a customer :D

However, the argument could be made that cybersec products with "admin access" should be class II, not I, requiring third party assessment.
February 9, 2026 at 5:42 PM
@nopatience I think this is exactly what the CRA tries to do. It's all about the classification those security products end up having. If they're class II, they will need third party assessments to be able to sell in the EU.

I don't think @MastodonEngineering 's proposal of suggesting community run servers at signup is going to work.

Bear with me:

The difference between funneling new users to the foundation-run instance unless the user makes an active choice (personal invite from existing user, selecting from […]

If you're interesting in using Mistral Vibe for LLM-aided development - here's a tidbit of info that will make your life easier:

The context length you set in Vibe's config needs to be some X amount of tokens _lower_ than the largest context your hosted LLM supports.

Vibe will run automatic […]

New addition to my little #meshtastic utility script repo - generate a color coded interactive map with all the nodes your Meshtastic node knows about. Greener = less hops, redder = more hops.

I needed this for my own usage in trying to figure out how why my node […]

Hmm.

This is not my forté, those in cybersec that deal with this stuff are free to chime in. I did a quick IP reputation lookup and it seems the whole range/many of the IP ranges of the _very_ well known Swedish ISP Bahnhof are on a blacklist […]

Hi @euractiv

I'm unable to view your site - at all. The response I get is an immediate HTTP error 403 - see below.

I can't see any sane reason why a Swedish residential IP would be blocked like this so you might want to investigate any […]

@nopatience I agree fully - static models don't work so that paradigm needs a breakthrough.

@nopatience The problem, I think, is that those who don't see how LLMs could ever "become intelligent" are falling for the classic AI trap, which can be explained like this:

Throughout the 20th century, as soon as we understood how something worked we stopped calling it AI.

A good example […]
