Calling All Readers!

Banned Books Week is currently underway from Oct. 5-11, and we’d like to bring attention to the rise in attempts to censor stories pertaining to race, sexuality, LGBTQIA+ themes, and social injustice.

See replies below for links and ways to get involved! ⁀➷
The graphic depicts Joker holding a signboard with Morgana on his shoulder wearing a sign around his neck. The signs read: CAUGHT READING BANNED BOOKS and P508954TS. Joker has an arrogant expression on his face with a lopsided grin, and Morgana is equally pleased with their crime. Art by: jestarcana. The text beside them reads:

BANNED BOOKS WEEK

"With the escalation in attempts to ban books in libraries, schools, and bookstores around the country, George Orwell's cautionary tale "1984"serves a prescient warning about the dangers of censorship. This year's theme reminds us that the right to read belongs to all of us, that censorship has no place in contemporary society, and that we must defend our rights."*

Finally finished the first page of my FigureSkater!AU comic! This story now officially goes by the title: "Iced Mirror"

I've set myself one rule for this which is: do not overthink, just create. So be aware that this isn't 100% polished. I'll try to have fun, hope you'll enjoy 🧡

I'm pretty convinced the Pacify ability is just Melinoe trying to give directions to shades via the Reigen Arataka method of gesturing.

In honor of Edgar Allan Poe's 176th deathday, here are a few of my recent pieces inspired by Poe's works 🫀
Illustration by Abigail Larson depicting a scene from Edgar Allan Poe's poem "Annabel Lee". Two lovers embrace at the edge of the sea, water splashes around them and the surrounding rocks. A full moon shines over them, and storm clouds loom.
Published in "Sticker Jigsaw: The Edgar Allan Poe Collection" 2024 Macmillan illustration by Abigail Larson of a raven perched on a skull with a teal curtain backdrop illustration by Abigail Larson depicting a scene from Poe's "The Pit and the Pendulum" showing a man restrained as a pendulum blade swings close to him. Rats have swarmed around him, chewing the ropes that hold him down. This illustration is featured in "Sticker Jigsaw: The Edgar Allan Poe Collection" for Macmillan Books. Illustration by Abigail Larson for Macmillan's "Edgar Allan Poe Sticker Jigsaw" book. The illustration is a scene from Edgar Allan Poe's poem, "The Raven". The narrator is at the center of the image looking up at at raven perched above an open doorway. Behind the narrator is a tall window with red curtains, and the ghost of Lenore lurks nearby. A black cat is watching the scene from the lower right corner.

The Hades franchise has been everything I could’ve wished for since 2020.

I always wanted to thank Supergiant Games with a fanart, but I was always short on… time?

Maybe now, time won’t be such a troublesome thing for me anymore.
