Today we joined our union siblings from AFGE, AFA-CWA, IAFF, AFT, and more to demand immediate action from Congress to reopen the federal government. The longer this shutdown drags on, the more it hurts essential workers, services & safety.

Our air traffic controllers already work tirelessly to keep our national airspace safe, and they do it without pay during a shutdown. Congress must #EndTheShutdown so we can focus on modernizing our air traffic control system and ensure that the workforce is adequately staffed.

Even without a government shutdown, our air traffic control system is strained by chronic understaffing and unreliable equipment. Thousands of aviation safety professionals are either furloughed or working without pay. Congress must #EndTheShutdown now.

Right now, tens of thousands of transportation workers & safety professionals are keeping our country moving safely without pay.

Today, we applaud Rep. Nicole Malliotakis & Rep. Emilia Sykes for introducing legislation to expand eligibility of the overtime tax deduction to millions of workers. If passed, this could allow workers to deduct overtime pay above their normal hourly wage for tax purposes. ttd.org/news-and-med...
